Aintree Golf Course
The new Aintree golf center comprises a 9-hole course, driving range, PGA qualified professional also a pro-shop and clubhouse. It is a pay-as-you play golf complex open to the public. Owned by the Racecourse Company whose members are able to use the complex as a part of their membership.
It is an unusual golf course in that it is set within a race course. That in itself makes it unique, but more uniquely still, it is set within the racecourse which stages the world famous grand National Steeplechase.
Furthermore, it is the longest 9-hole golf course in the country and offers the opportunity to drive (a golf ball) over Beechers Brook. Needles to say, the course is closed whenever there is a horse race meeting.
